Why should I have a Carbon Monoxide detector in my home?

A carbon monoxide detector is designed to alert you of fumes (carbon monoxide) which is an odorless, colorless, tasteless and invisible gas produced by burning fuels (gasoline, wood, coal, propane, oil, and/or natural gas for example) for added protection for you and your family. They are required in the City of Kirksville by city ordinance if you have any combustion appliances or an attached garage.
